Onsite Construction Sector Vision

Revitalising Onsite Construction into a robust sector that champions effective regulation, equitable training, and diverse pathways for all workers.

 

By forging strong partnerships with government and uplifting key communities, Onsite Construction can develop a sustainable and skilled workforce ready to meet New Zealand's evolving construction demands. 

Onsite Construction builds the homes, schools, public spaces, and workplaces that shape everyday life across New Zealand.

It’s the heart of the construction industry, powered by skilled workers like brick and blocklayers, builders, carpenters, and roofers doing high-impact, hands-on work.

As the industry responds to changing demands and shifting economic conditions, attracting and retaining talent has become more important than ever. Strengthening this workforce is key to meeting today’s needs, and preparing for what’s ahead.

Based on what we’ve heard from across the sector, here are the four key areas guiding workforce action:
